Nursing Program College Guidelines

West Kentucky Community and Technical College

The System Guidelines will be followed except that:

1. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's) seeking admission to NSG 199 Accelerated Transition: PN_A.D.N. Bridge Course must submit the following information two months prior to the first day of the class meeting:
   1. Application for admission to the college.
   2. A passing score on the nationally normed PN-RN Mobility Examination.
   3. Official transcripts from all postsecondary education and training.
   4. Copy of current LPN/LVN license.
   5. Graduation from LPN program of study within three years of admission to the nursing program or verification of at least one year of full-time employment within the last three years.
2. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's) may be given preference during the selective admission process if they:
   1. score above the 50th percentile on the NLN Pre-Admission - RN Examination.
   2. have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
   3. are residents of Kentucky and/or the college service area.
