1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to inform employees that KCTCS is committed to compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (29 U.S.C. 2601 et seq.).

2. Scope

This policy applies to eligible employees. Eligibility is defined in the associated Administrative Procedure 2.14.2.2-P. 

3. Policy

KCTCS will grant eligible employees up to 12 workweeks of job-protected unpaid leave during a rolling 12-month period for qualifying medical conditions and up to 26 weeks of exigency leave as defined in the Family and Medical Leave Act and Administrative Procedure 2.14.2.2-P, the procedure for the administration of family medical leave.

4. Procedure

Administrative Procedure 2.14.2.2-P implements this policy.
